Chris and I are high school sweethearts and even though he knew from the beginning we were both going to be parents, me not so much. It wasn't until after too many fun nights out, traveling around the world and 6 years of marriage I knew there was something missing. So about a couple years ago we started trying, and a trying time it was. Elleanor was our rainbow baby and we couldn't feel more blessed to be her parents and wouldn't change anything about our journey.
Three things that make our routine work right now are:
1. Always have premade bottles ready, so all we have to do is get them to room temperature for her feedings.
2. Taking turns on the night shift
3. Making sure we always have dinner together, even if that means one of us is holding her and the other person is holding her bottle up so that we both have one hand free to eat, LOL. It helps keep our day in rhythm and makes sure we don't forget to do things as a family.
Baby Elle is my first child so learning her routine and her cues to keep her happy and calm is something I am battling everyday.
My go-to recipe is anything breakfast! A good fried egg or scrambled with toast and bacon for any meal is delicious!
My favorite product for baby Elleanor would be her Graco, pack and play. This was by far one of the least expensive items on our baby registry and its the only thing we use, day to night. She loves it over any new, expensive or fancy bassinet/rocker we have (and trust me we have and tried it all.. )
To make sure I feel energized, I always make sure and try to somewhat keep my morning routine. A shower, get dressed (even if I know I have nowhere to go) and some make up never hurt either. Mind you the hubbs is still home to help so we will see how long this will last!
Some advice I could share on parenting, there is no right or wrong way. Try, try and try until something works and its most definitely a team effort, with my husbands help I feel we can accomplish anything (for the most part).
Our favorite local business would have to one of our go-to restaurants, Camp 4 Wine Cafe in Modesto. We haven't been since baby Elleanor was born but it definitely is always a treat when we have the opportunity!
Song on repeat, definitely "I pray for you" by Dan + Shay, I actually used this song for a slideshow I made for Chris' first father's day.
My favorite product (if it even counts) are my eyelash extensions, especially now, even on the most exhausting days I still feel somewhat put together. @flutterlash.bar https://www.theflutterlashbar.com
If I could pick only 3 things for Elleanor's life, they would be:
3. Never lose trust in her faith
Something long term that I would want for our child is for her to know that to love and to be kind will never be regretful in any situation.
Our favorite thing to do with Baby Elleanor right holding her and watching how fast she is changing every day.
