I found this saying on a wooden board at TJMaxx haha
Pretty spot-on truth for a off-price retail chain.
My family has been an indescribable gift to me from the Lord.
I can't speak for the three of them, but all of them have played an irreplaceable role in leading me to understand the goodness of God through their love for me and my love for them.
I just keep thinking about the verses like, "If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!" Luke 11:13
Me? Evil?? Oh man, don't I know it.
Every time I yell at one of my kids out of impatience, or Garett and I argue about something way too silly- my evil heart is there.
Yet, if I yield to the love that God speaks to me about, and demonstrate it to my family, I can see His face as though through a veil, and the way He views me and loves me. Man is it hard, a constant striving to peel away the layers of hurt this world inflicts on the way we frame everything. But God is faithful and willing that none of us be left in this state of unawareness of His glory He originally designed us for. He renews our minds by His word, and by the power of His Spirit. It's His presence of joy that allows for things like fun impromptu pictures, with no expectations, and genuine smiles.
